The Stage 2 system also includes an air box lid that helps reduce intake noise.The included Proguard 7 filter ensures that you are providing a clean supply of air to your diesel engine. Analysis of a Cummins 5.9L oil sample (3000 mile interval) showed a Silicon content of less than 4 ppm. Proof that the Proguard 7 filter really works! To address the need for extra protection from dust and dirt with washable/reusable oil-impregnated cotton gauze filters, aFe developed a new filtration technology so revolutionary that they applied for and received a patent. This new filtration technology is aptly called Pro-GUARD 7. The filter consists of 5 layers of progressively finer mesh medical grade cotton gauze with micro fibers that attract smaller and smaller particles as air passes through. This is combined with 2 layers of random-porosity non-woven synthetic polyester fabric to provide a true 7 layer filtration system. The 7 layer combination of cotton gauze and non-woven polyester is sandwiched between 2 layers of epoxy coated aluminum wire mesh to ensure that none of the filter media is sucked into the intake system. This wire mesh is especially important to turbo diesel owners! This product fits all 2003, 2004, and 2005 Dodge trucks equipped with the 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel.
