This CST Performance Suspension 7" lift system is designed for use with all 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 model year 2wd Dodge Ram 1500 trucks. If you own a 2002-2005 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd you need to take a look at this kit. The heart of this lift is the CST fabricated spindle that provides 4" inches of lift. These 4" lift spindles are made by hand from 1018 sheet steel and will lift the front of your truck an honest 4 inches over stock and at the same time provide an additional 4" inches of ground clearance. CST fabricated steel spindles are MUCH stronger than the stock cast aluminum Dodge Ram spindles too. Remember that ground clearance increase? A 2wd Dodge Ram 1500 equipped with this 7" CST suspension lift has more ground clearance under the front crossmember than a similarly lifted Ram 4x4! CST also includes a pair of 3" lift coil springs that when combined with CST 4" lift spindle provide a full 7" of suspension lift. This kit has been installed, tested, and has successfully held an alignment with no installation or alignment issues typically found in some other lesser quality kits now on the market. Customers are pleasantly surprised when they learn the truck still rides pretty good even after its been lifted. Please note that this kit does NOT include a new upper control arm. This CST 7" suspension lift kit includes a pair of CST 4" lift spindles, a pair of CST 3" lift coil springs or 3" lift coil spring spacers, and a CST rear block and U-bolt kit. Shock absorbers are not included. If your truck has the 5.9L V8 or 5.7L Hemi V8 you must run the 3" lift coil spring spacer instead of replacement coil springs to achieve 7" of front lift. Most customers use a 3" or 4" rear block and u-bolt kit. To put together a complete 7" lift kit you must select a rear lift block kit and the type of shock absorbers you want from the drop down boxes located beneath this item description. Due to vehicle assembly variances its impossible for us to say whether or not your truck will require a 3" or 4" rear block to sit level. We suggest you measure and eyeball the difference between front and rear height (on level ground) and use that to help select the correct block kit. Some customers ask why is the rear only lifted 3 or 4 inches when the front is lifted 7 inches? Simple, the new Dodge Ram trucks come from the factory with the front end MUCH lower than the rear, raising the front more than the rear will level the truck. Tire & Wheel Info:
This lift is not designed for use with stock wheel and larger than stock tires. The CST 7" Lift Kit is designed to run up to a 35" or metric equivalent diameter tire when mounted on an 8" to 9" wide wheel. If running 17" diameter wheels the back space must not exceed 4.75" inches! When running larger diameter wheels the back space tolerance does allow for wheels with more than 4.75" inches of back space to be used. Due to the design of the 2002-2005 Ram 1500 2wd suspension you MUST run a stock length front shock, even when installing a suspension lift. Why? Because Dodge engineers have designed the front shock to prevent the aluminum upper control arm from knocking against the top of the steel frame rail. The front shock acts as a suspension limiter and running a shock that has a longer extended length than stock will cause premature upper control arm ball-joint damage. For this reason we STRONGLY recommend running a factory length replacement shock for use with this particular CST kit. Note: We highly recommend the CST performance shock absorbers for use with their CST kit. The CST shocks are powdercoated silver with a black boot, very similar in construction and design to a Bilstein 5100.
