This Fabtech Upper Control Arm & Spindle kit is designed for use on the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 model year 2wd Silverado and Sierra 1500 trucks. Please note, this item will NOT fit the 2007 Classic Edition or any 4x4 vehicle. This Upper Control Arm (UCA) and Lift Spindle Kit is designed to provide up to 6.5" inches of lift when combined with a replacement coilover or spacer. Please note, this item does NOT include any coilover or spacer, those items must be purchased separately. Fabtech is offering these components as the foundation and encourages you to purchase their Dirt Logic coilover to achieve the maximum lift height of 6" inches. Fabtech has designed this lift to provide maximum lift with superior ground clearance but with a much lower price than a traditional subframe style lift design. FTS21103 Contents:
The Fabtech FTS21103 box kit includes a pair of Upper Control Arms built from 1.25" OD (outside diameter) tubing with a .120" wall thickness. The inner pivots utilize urethane bushings that will provide very reliable and quiet service for extended periods of time. Fabtech uses gussets at both the frame side pivots and the Uni-Ball mounting area to increase strength. The use of the Uni-Ball instead of a ball-joint allows the Fabtech arm to provide a wheel travel increase when combined with an extended travel coilover. The Fabtech Upper Control Arms feature 1" diameter Teflon lined uniballs that attach to the Fabtech spindles without requiring any drilling or modifications. The FTS21103 does NOT include front or rear shock absorbers. To achieve the maximum lift height of 6.5" inches you must also install either a factory strut spacer or a coilover designed to provide additional lift height. Rear shocks are NOT included. The 4" rear block and U-bolt kit will require the installation of a longer than stock length rear shock. All of these components are available for purchase separate from the FTS21103 Box Kit. This item is sold this way to allow customers to run a coilover or rear shock other than the Fabtech Dirt Logic Series shocks. Fabtech also states that with their Lift Spindle installed you may notice a small increase in the turning radius of the truck. Fabtech also recommends the use of aftermarket wheels with no more than 5.00" inches of back space. Use of larger than stock tires on factory wheels may lead to tire sidewall clearance issues with the Fabtech Upper Arm and Lift Spindle. For this reason it is critical that you verify sufficient clearance exists between your wheel/tire and the suspension and steering components.
