Fabtech Add-A-Leaf Kit # FTS200 is designed to provide a small ride height increase on the rear suspension of small and mid-size trucks equipped with leaf springs. The Fabtech Add-A-Leaf allows for an easier installation and the smoothest possible ride available in an add a leaf kit.
The FTS200 includes a pair of Fabtech add-a-leafs. The FTS200 is most frequently used on mid-size pickup trucks such as the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S-10, Chevrolet Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Dakota, etc. This Add-A-Leaf will provide approximately 1.50 inches of rear suspension lift but this can and does vary from vehicle to vehicle.
Please note:
Because of the wide range of vehicles this product will fit the actual lift height may vary.
Installation Notes:
1. Jack up the rear end of the vehicle and support the frame rails with jack stands.
2. Supporting the rear differential, remove the rear shocks and u bolts. Lower axle down slowly. Use care not to over extend any brake hose or ABS sensor wires (if present).
3. Working from the driver side of the truck. Clamp the leaf spring in the middle of the spring and remove the center bolt.
4. Separate the springs and install the provided add a leaf with the new center bolt in a pyramid pattern with the smallest leaf on the bottom and the longest leaf on top. The Fabtech Add-A-Leaf will be installed somewhere between the shortest and longest.
5. The longest side of the Fabtech add-a-leaf from the center pin hole goes toward the rear of the truck (toward the shackle).
Note: If your truck has a factory overload leaf installed it should remain on the bottom of the pack (if equipped).
6. Clamp the spring and tighten the center bolt as not to leave a gap between the springs. Cut the thread of the center bolt smooth with the nut. The nut should be on the topside of the leaf.
7. Realign the center pin in the leaf spring pack to the centering hole on the axle perch and install the original u-bolts. Torque u-bolts to manufacture specifications.
8. Repeat these steps on the passenger side of the truck.
9. Re-install shock absorbers to manufacturer torque specifications.
