The ICON Tubular Steel Upper Control Arms # 58451DJ are available for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 model year Toyota FJ Cruiser models.ICON engineered the Tubular Steel UCA's to add strength and correct alignment geometry on stock or lifted vehicle applications. ICON replaces the weak factory ball joint with their new Patented Delta Joint ball-joint. The Delta Joint has the correct taper which means you do NOT have to drill or ream the factory steering knuckle tapers. These arms are a 100% bolt-on installation.

The combination of the ICON arm design and Delta Joints helps to increase the upper arms misalignment ability which allows for smooth and clean wheel travel on lifted vehicles. The OEM ball-joints will limit suspension travel when they bind so replacing them which a "high angle" capable ball-joint can provide an increase in suspension travel, increase on and off-road suspension performance, and improve the ride quality of both stock height and lifted Toyota FJ Cruisers. When used in conjunction with the ICON 2.5" V.S. Series Performance Coil Overs, these control arms can add significant gains in wheel travel and on or off road performance.

ICON Delta Joint - Better than Uni-Balls!
ICON Vehicle Dynamics has sold control arms equipped with Uni-Balls for many years and for many Toyota users the Uni-Ball works just fine. In harsh climates the Uni-Ball is well known for wearing out and this is because there is no effective method to seal the dirt out and keep lubrication in. The Delta Joint combines the durability of a factory style sealed and lubrication ball joint with the performance of a traditional Uni-Ball. While the Uni-Ball does a good job of allowing the control arms of a vehicle to articulate with little bind they do have an inherent weakness that leaves more to be desired when used in a daily driven application – exposure to the elements. Whether it be corrosive chemicals used on roadways to clear snow or ice or the unforgiving dirt and mud that comes with off-road adventure, Uni-Balls allow this debris to build up and eventually work its way into the internals causing excessive and rapid wear and eventual failure. ICON took their years of suspension design experience and used that to develop an ultra heavy duty, high angle ball joint which ultimately led to the creation of the patent pending ICON Delta Joint.
