After hours of shock and suspension testing on the ICON Vehicle Dynamics Ford F-150 SVT Raptor it was determined the OE steering system needed some upgrading. When pushing the Raptor hard the factory power steering system would start to aerate the fluid. This aeration leads to foaming which causes air bubbles in the fluid and this leads to a situation where the pump can produce a whining or "growling" noise. Air bubbles are compressible and fluid pumps do NOT LIKE AIR in the system! Hydraulic brake systems have reduced performance when air is present in the lines. The same is true of the power steering system on your Raptor. These symptoms can ultimately lead to reduced life of the pump and reduced performance from the steering rack. Power Steering Solution has developed a high performance billet aluminum reservoir that not only increases the overall fluid volume but also includes an anti-cavitation valve as well.

This reservoir system provides a combination of cutting edge design and engineering that has led to an easy to install bolt on reservoir upgrade that installs within 30 minutes, in the OEM location, with factory hoses and hardware. The CNC machined power steering reservoir also includes a threaded O-Ring Cap with a 12psi pop off valve to eliminate increased pressure build during extreme use conditions.

This PSS4005-1 kit is designed only for use on 2012, 2013 and 2014 model year Ford Raptor trucks. The kit includes 1 fully assembled & ready to install PSS reservoir and 1 quart of power steering fluid. All necessary hardware required for installation is included. Please note that these parts are Model Year specific. If you have a 2010 or 2011 Raptor you will require the use of a different part number: PSS4005
