The SmittyBilt Overlander tent attaches to the roof of your vehicle and sets up in just minutes, keeping you safe and secure as you sleep. The 92" x 55" mattress is big enough for couples or small families, while the new XL size – with a whopping 92.5" x 74.8" mattress that can sleep up to four. Do you really want to sleep four adults in a tent on top of a vehicle? Probably not... but two people will now have more room to stretch out. The Overlander XL Tent also features a second opening that is accessible from the underside of the tent that allows entry and exit. Smittybilt Overlander Tent XL # 2883. This tent was designed to improve upon previous generation tents. By increasing the size the Overlander Tent XL is better able to accommodate taller users. The mattress measures almost 92" long so even if your 7' tall this tent will allow you to sleep in a comfortable position. If you are tired of sleeping in a cramped regular sized tent the XL version might be perfect for you! Keep in mind that this larger tent is not going to fit smaller vehicles so make sure you verify that your vehicle has sufficient roof weight carrying capacity and space before making your purchase. This tent would also be ideal for installation on a compatible trailer.
This tent includes a ladder for easy access, rain fly to keep you and your contents dry in inclement weather, and a UV stabilized and waterproof cover for when the tent is stowed away. Smittybilt even includes a 12v "cigarette style" outlet for charging cell phones and other low draw devices and an interior LED to help you see what your doing after the sun has gone down. One feature that we really like is the second access door on the bottom of the tent. With the tent above you this lower opening provides some coverage during inclement weather that will help keep you from getting soaked as you make your way into or out of the tent.
