This FOX Racing Shock has been purpose built and valved for use on the rear of lifted GM trucks. This shock will fit the rear of a 2011-2019 2500HD or 3500 Single Rear Wheel trucks equipped with a 4" to 6" rear suspension lift. FOX Racing Shox have been used on winning off-road racing vehicles since the 1970s. FOX Racing 2011-2019 Silverado & Sierra 2500HD Rear Shock # 980-24-958. This shock is LONG and is only for use on lifted trucks. If you have installed a 5" to 7" rear lift (over stock height) this shock should work perfectly. The extended length measures almost 34" inches which makes this shock approximately 7" inches longer than the factory GM shock. If you only have a 3" to 4" rear lift (common with 6" front lifts) you will want to run a different FOX part number. Again, this is a LONG shock so make sure it's right before you buy it. We don't accept returns on installed parts!
FOX uses race-proven damping control to provide a comfortable on-road ride and predictable offroad handling in even the toughest conditions. The aluminum body increases cooling capacity and will never rust. Inside you will find race-proven performance valving technology that features the FOX Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design. The IFP separates the shock fluid from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber. The IFP design eliminates shock fluid foaming (aeration) and by keeping a consistent fluid viscosity the FOX shock provides consistent performance. This shock is factory-tuned and features vehicle specific valving. The race developed high flow damping piston matched with application specific vavling provides the 2.0 Performance Series IFP shock a predicable ride quality capable of handling the roughest on and off-road conditions.
