Discontinued by manufacturer - No longer available for purchase.
These CST Torsion Bar Re-Indexing Keys are designed for use on all 1999-2006 K1500 1/2 ton 4x4 pickup trucks and 1/2 ton 2wd and 4wd 2000-2006 GM fullsize SUVs. This item also fits the 2007 Classic Series Silverado & Sierra 1500. These torsion keys will work on most K1500 Silverado and Sierra trucks, the Avalanche 1500, Suburban 1500, Tahoe, and Yukon 1500 sport utility vehicles. These torsion lift keys will provide between 1 to 3 inches of additional lift on a stock height vehicle (depending on how you adjust them) and do so without the chance of stripping out the stock adjusting bolt or bottoming the key out in the crossmember. For the 2wd owners this is an EXCELLENT upgrade that will help to level out a stock SUV and can also be used to provide an additional 1-2 inches of lift to certain suspension lift kits. These CST torsion lift keys work very well to help level GM trucks and SUV's that arrive from the factory with a noticeable front to rear rake. A question that many 4wd owners often ask is wont these keys ruin my 4wd driveline? - The simple answer is no. All of the suspension lift kits made by RCD, Rancho, Skyjacker, Superlift, and Fabtech use a replacement steering knuckle that increases the operating angles of the front CVs the same amount as a torsion key lift. These suspension lift kits are well respected and have proven to be extremely reliable and are popular with customers. Vehicles with over 100,000 miles have reported no failures due to the slight increase in CV joint operating angle. PLC believes that the small increase in driveline angle is not enough to cause concern among 4wd owners, however a slight increase in CV boot wear is possible and this should be watched.
The Torsion Key Lift is inexpensive but it does have one flaw... it can reduce the ride quality when the torsion bars are adjusted to provide too much lift. To help regain some of the lost ride quality we STRONGLY recommend either a shock extension for your factory shocks or replacing them with a shock designed for use with torsion lift keys. We offer Bilstein 5100 series shocks that are designed specifically for use ONLY on the 4x4 Silverado and Sierra trucks. For some strange reason General Motors uses an odd-ball clevis mount on the lower shock mount of these vehicles. We offer the correct shock that bolts right up to the existing mounts with no conversion required. Bilstein shocks aren't cheap but they do provide a noticeable increase in ride quality when lifting the vehicle 2" inches via the torsion lift keys. Please note, front shock absorbers are not absolutely required when lifting the front up to 2 inches over stock height. Front shock absorbers are not included but are available for purchase separately below.
Please Note:
PerformanceLifts.com strongly recommends getting the vehicle re-aligned after installing these torsion lift keys - failure to do so may lead to premature tire wear and poor handling. The listed price is for a pair of CST CSK-C13-1 torsion keys (not built or sold by GM) and includes standard ground shipping, no more and no less. These torsion lift keys will NOT fit ANY 1500HD, 2500 light duty or 2500HD / 3500 series GM trucks or 2500 series SUVs!
