ICON Vehicle Dynamics Toyota Tundra 2.5 Reservoir Front Coilover Shocks # 58770. ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. Series 2.5” remote reservoir coilover shocks are an incredible upgrade for the front end of the 2022+ Toyota Tundra. ICON’s Vehicle-specific valving provides a sport tuned feel on and off-road while offering 1-3” of lift height adjustability for use of larger, more aggressive wheel and tire combinations. ICON's larger 2.5” shock body and increased piston area over stock components provides improved damping ability and outstanding ride characteristics across varying types of terrain. Remote reservoirs ensure optimum performance by increasing the duration of consistent damping regardless of situation, keeping the shocks at a cooler operating temperature during heavy use. When paired with ICON rear shock absorbers vehicle control will be balanced front to rear resulting in the best overall driving experience for your Tundra
How much lift will I get?
That's a great question but you might not like the answer. This ICON coilover has a threaded body which allows you to raise or lower the upper spring seat. If you increase the spring pre-load the truck goes up. If you decrease the spring pre-load the truck goes down. That's an over-simplification of how an adjustable coilover can lift your Tundra but that's important to remember. Here is where it gets messy. Your fancy well optioned Tundra might be heavier than your neighbors stripped down model. Or yours might be the stripper and his the fully loaded model. If you take a set of coilovers that have the preload set to provide 2" of lift on a truck that has 2000lbs over the front tires and then install the same coilovers on a truck with 2500lbs over the front tires the heavier truck will achieve less lift. Hopefully that makes sense. If it doesn't go back and read it again. What that means is to achieve the same 2" of lift on the heavier truck the spring will require MORE preload. So out of the box the lift height can vary wildly based on the weight of the truck the coilovers are installed on. So your buddy might tell you he got exactly 2" inches of lift from his coilovers right out of the box with no adjustment and you decide that you want to get the same exact lift height as his truck because you like that look. Well it turns out your truck and his truck are drastically different in weight. So you install these coilovers and you only get 1.5" inches of lift and then call somebody to complain. Well the simple fact is your truck is heavier than his and you'll need more spring preload to achieve the lift height you want. And that's OK because these coilovers are HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE. Grab your spanner wrench and start adjusting! But don't go beyond what ICON recommends. Exceed the maximum recommended preload and the ride will suffer and you can destroy parts if the springs go to coil bind.
