Skyjacker Ford SuperDuty Drop Pitman Arm # FA450

Skyjacker Drop Pitman Arm # FA450. This is the Drop Pitman Arm that Skyjacker recommends be installed on their 4" through 8" suspension lift systems for the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 model year Ford F-250 SuperDuty 4x4 and F-350 SuperDuty 4x4. The drop pitman arm reduces the steering link angle. Ideally the steering linkage should run parallel to each other to reduce bumpsteer. The drop pitman arm needs to be somewhat matched to the track bar drop height for everything to function properly. Please be sure that this FA450 has the correct amount of drop for your suspension lift height.

The sector shaft nut must be torqued to the vehicle torque specs which on the Super Duty is normally over 300 ft/lbs. Failure to properly torque the sector shaft nut may cause component failure and subsequent loss of vehicle control. Refer to the factory service manual for all steering component torque specifications. Use a pitman arm puller to remove the OE pitman arm. Mark orientation of pitman arm on sector shaft prior to removal. The threads of the sector shaft and the sector shaft nut must be cleaned of all factory dry adhesive. DO NOT use a torch to heat the pitman arm to remove it! The arm is very close to the steering box seals and you will probably burn the seals before the pitman arm comes loose. Use the proper tools!
Apply thread lock compound to the entire thread surface of the sector shaft nut. Hand tighten sector shaft nut then tighten only with a torque wrench. DO NOT use an impact wrench to tighten the sector shaft.
