The Waypoint 55l features smartphone control via Bluetooth connectivity. This allows you to set and monitor the units temperature remotely. It also has removable wheels if you are going to mount in your vehicle or trailer to reduce size/weight and features extendable handles to make lugging it around your campsite (or backyard) easier. It has dual zone freezing and cooling capabilities so you can have frozen goods on one side and refrigerated goods on the other.

Built In Easy Swap Battery:
The Smittybilt Waypoint includes one battery that can provide up to 6 hours of use under normal (not extreme) conditions. This is helpful if you want to take it out of your vehicle for meal time and go beyond the reach of your 12v power cable. We also sell additional batteries if you want to be able to operate your fridge remotely without having to worry about draining your vehicles battery. If you have 2 or 3 batteries you can get through the night without draining your vehicle battery and then use a solar panel during the day to power it from the Sun (100+ watt solar panel output required). And YES, this unit comes solar panel ready right out of the box. With a little bit of creativity the new Smittybilt Fridge / Freezer should allow you to ditch the bags of ice for good.

Fridge & Freezer Information:
This is a true Fridge / Freezer with a proper built in divider between the two temperature zones. Other manufacturers include a cutting board style divider that doesn't really work to separate frozen from non-frozen foods. The SmittyBilt Waypoint however has true dual zone controls. You can control these zones from the interface on the unit itself or via the Smartphone app. The app makes it easy to check the status of the unit while its stowed away. An example would be you are headed down the highway with all your gear packed up and you ask yourself... did I remember to set my temps properly? Hop on your phone and as long as the unit is within Bluetooth range you'll be able to check on things and adjust accordingly.

Additional Features Worth Mentioning:
This unit has a light that turns on when you open the lid... and turns off when you close it. The lid has a secured and removable cutting board. There is a USB-A port on the front control panel that you can use to charge your phone, camp speaker or almost any device that can be powered by a standard USB port. Large (removable) plastic wheels make rolling your food / beverages around the campsite much easier. This sucker is HEAVY when completely loaded down with food and drinks and the extra length of the retractable handles means you don't have to bend over as far to wheel it around. The extended handles retract out of the way when you don't need them to save space. Being able to quickly swap out the battery is a very nice feature. With a fully charged battery pack you can basically cut the cord for up to 6 hours and if you purchase additional batteries you can increase the run time away from a primary power source almost indefinitely. There is a SOLAR IN port right on the unit next to the battery pack. If you've got a 100w or better solar panel and good sunlight you should be able to run this unit without depleting your vehicle, trailer or boat batteries. No jerry-rigging required. Yes, we said boat. Nothing is better than having properly frozen ice for cocktails and ice cream on a summer day in your boat.
