Superlift 1980-1996 Ford Bronco Superunner 4" Lift # K385
This Superlift K385 Superunner 4" Lift Suspension System is designed to fit 1980-1996 Ford Bronco vehicles. This lift will provide approximately 4" inches of front suspension lift over stock height. Please note, if you have already installed a leveling kit it will have to be removed before this lift can be installed. This lift will fit all 1980-1996 Bronco models but will require a few model year specific options to put together what we consider to be a complete suspension lift system.

<p>This Superlift Superunner 4" Lift System # K385 is designed to fit 1980-1996 Ford Bronco vehicles. This Superlift suspension gives your third-generation Ford Bronco an awesome stance and more off-road ground clearance. This Superlift system is designed for owners looking to gain more ground clearance, wheel travel flexibility, and a straight-up stance. Superlift includes new pre-set coil springs that provide approximately 4" of front lift and lift blocks raise the rear approximately 2.5" inches. A replacement pitman arm is included and is provied to reduce the drag link angle. Superlift also includes new axle pivot drop brackets that are constructed using laser-cut 1/4" thick steel plate. These axle pivot drop brackets lower the inboard ends of the axle beams and help correct the camber when running 4" lift springs. Please note that camber alignment bushings (not included) may be required to precisely adjust your camber angle and the correct bushing will vary from one vehicle to the next. The Superlift Superunner Kit # K385 also includes a set replacement tubular radius arms.
Extended length front and rear Superlift Shadow series shocks are included and are direct replacements for the factory shocks. If your Bronco is factory-equipped with the Quad Front Shock option Superlift offers these additional two shocks for purchase separately. You'll need to purchase a pair of Superlift # 85280 shocks, available using the selection box located near the ADD TO CART button on this page.
1980 was the first time Ford used a 2-piece front axle, coil springs and radius arms on their full-size Ford Bronco/F-150. Ford called this version of their Independent Front Suspension (IFS) the Twin Traction Beam (TTB). The TTB axle is comprised of two beams that are mounted on pivots, with the tire at one end, and the pivot at the other. The pivots from both sides cross over center. 2WD versions were called Twin-I Beam. The rear suspension remained a solid axle with leaf springs on both 4WD & 2WD models.
As the front ride height is raised on the TTB, the tops of the tires lean outward creating positive camber angle. With lifts over 2 inches, caster and camber angles must be addressed. In stock form, the radius arms are parallel with the frame. Once lifted, the radius arms become angled because the axle end moves downward and the frame end remains fixed in the factory mount. Castor correction is handled by two different methods from SUPERLIFT.
Wit the K385 kit Superlift replaces the factory radius arms with longer Superunner radius arms. These arms are eighteen (18) inches longer than stock. You remove the factory mount and re-install it farther back on the frame. These longer radius arms offer many benefits for on & off-roading performance (reinforced axle mount, enhanced wheel travel, decreases camber changes during the suspension travel cycle, and more. Camber correction is solved with new axle-to-crossmember lowering brackets. These strong, heavy-duty axle pivot brackets are constructed of 0.25 Inch steel plate. To precisely dial-in the camber angle, it may be necessary to replace stock eccentric camber bushings. Ford Dealers or your local alignment shop offers these bushings (usually available in set increments up to 2 degrees of change.)
For the front, this kit includes axle-to-crossmember lowering brackets (axle pivot brackets) for correct camber angle. Extended length Superunner radius arms are included for caster correction. A drop pitman arm is included to reduce steering linkage angles. Superlift revised this 1980-1996 Ford Bronco lift kit from the drawing board in West Monroe, Louisiana, using state of the art design tools and software. The majority of metal and components are manufactured (fabricated and/or CNC precision machined) at the Superlift design and manufacturing center in West Monroe, LA. Superlift ensures that the optimum ride and handling performance is designed into every lift system.
SUPERLIFT engineers develop these 4-inch front lift coil springs to give you the best ride and handling characteristics of available. They’re pre-set to reduce fatigue in the steel, minimize settling and guarantee a consistent ride height. Shot-peened to increase tensile strength and allow maximum wheel travel without sacrificing the life of the springs.
