If you own a 2003+ Toyota 4Runner that's been outfitted with a lot of accessories you might be in the market for a set of heavy duty ICON Overland Series coil springs. The ICON # 52800 coil spring kit is designed to raise the rear suspension ride height approximately 3" inches on an unloaded vehicle, provide 2" inches of lift with a 400 lbs load and 1.5" inches of lift with a 600 lbs load. These ICON Coil Springs were purpose built to help improve both the on and offroad ride quality of the Toyota 4Runner after additional weight has been added to the vehicle. ICON Overland Series 3" Lift Coil Springs # 52800 are designed to fit 2003 - current model year Toyota 4Runner vehicles. These coil springs are designed for use on 4Runner's that might have added a rooftop tent, heavy steel rear bumper, a full size rear tire carrier or any vehicle equipped with lots of additional weight. ICON developed these coil springs to provide approximately 3" inches of lift on an unloaded vehicle. Please keep in mind that if you have installed a heavy aftermarket rear bumper, roof top tent or anything else that's HEAVY the actual lift height over stock will be less than 3" inches. See the helpful graphic to see what an FJ looks like unloaded... the 4Runner will have a similar stance with the same weight and springs installed. If you have equipped your 4Runner for Overland or Expedition use this is the coil spring set we recommend.
Commonly asked questions...
Customers ask us "exactly how much lift will these springs give me" and the answer is we are unable to tell you exactly how much additional lift these coil springs will provide. The reason being is the lift height you achieve is all based on the weight of the vehicle. If your 4Runner is totally unloaded the expected lift height is approximately 3" inches. We can tell you from experience that if you have installed additional accessories on your vehicle the more weight you have added the less lift height these springs will provide. Simple right?
Yes, the ICON # 52800 Coil Spring set does have a higher spring rate than the factory Toyota springs. A higher spring rate was selected by ICON to help reduce the body roll and frequent bottoming out problem that the 4Runner exhibits when driven aggressively on or off-road.
