This product better supports and reinforces the factory upper shock mount. ICON experienced a failure while testing a totally stock Tacoma and had to limp the truck back to the pavement. These reinforcement plates will also capture and retain the shock stem bushing if a failure of the factory upper mount does occur. ICON 2024+ Toyota Tacoma Top Plate Reinforcement Kit # 51020. The ICON Top Plate Reinforcement Kit for the 2024+ Toyota Tacoma is quick and easy to install. There is no need to jack up the truck or even remove the tire. Simply remove the four coilover top mount nuts, install the Top Plate Reinforcement, and re-torque the nuts. The reinforcement plate is CNC machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum. It does not affect or limit the factory suspension performance in any way.
