ICON Neoprene Coilover Shock Wrap # 191003. Remember that old saying... an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? Consider these ICON 191003 Neoprene Shock Wraps a few ounces of good ol' USA made prevention! Unless your truck or SUV is on display in a Museum it is constantly under attack. Mother Nature loves to throw rocks, mud, sand, rain, snow and ice at vehicles. Industrial chemicals like Ice Melt (and road salt) ruin the anodizing in short order. If you are lucky enough to be running an ICON coilover on your vehicle you owe it to yourself to protect your investment. These neoprene wraps will not prevent all damage from occurring but they will slow it down.

Why do you need these?
Rocks and other debris can damage the painted or powdercoated finish on your coil springs. Once the protective finish is chipped the bare metal is vulnerable to corrosion. Corrosion is bad. The shock shafts can be damaged by rocks and gravel and this destroys the smooth surface that the seals require. Once the shaft itself becomes damaged it is only a matter of time before this rough surface destroys the shock seals. If the shock seals are destroyed you will have to overhaul the shock. And then there's the matter of appearance. If you want your coilovers to look nice in the summertime you need to protect them during winter! The beautiful anodizing that ICON uses on their aluminum parts can be quickly ruined by road salts and other harsh chemicals used to melt the snow and ice from the roads and highways. And finally... preventing gunk and grit from building up in the threads of the shock body will allow to easily and safely adjust the pre-load on your coil overs should the need arise.

ICON recommends a thorough cleaning of the shock shock body, shock shaft (paying close attention to the wiper seal area), preload adjuster threads, and coil spring before installing these covers. The goal of these wraps is to keep the shock and spring as clean as possible. If your coilovers are brand new these can be installed without having to perform any additional preparation. These 191003 wraps are considered the "small size" and will fit most ICON coilovers that measure between 11.25" to 12.25" from the coil adjuster nut to the lower spring perch.

This item includes one pair of ICON Shock Wraps - Small. Printed Installation instructions. ICON Sticker. Installation of the wrap requires no tools.
