Bilstein 2005-2019 Nissan Frontier Rear Shock - Lifted Applications
December 2020 Update: The majority of Bilstein 5100 series shocks are currently on a nationwide back order. For this reason Performance Lifts has temporarily suspended the sale of this item.
This product page allows the purchase of a custom built Bilstein 5125 series shock absorber designed for the rear of a lifted 2005+ Nissan Frontier. Please note that Bilstein rear shocks do NOT provide any lift by themselves. This shock is designed for use on a truck equipped with a rear suspension lift only. If your Frontier is stock height you'll want to look at other options available on the website under part number 24-187152. Bilstein 5125 series shock absorbers feature a monotube design which provides consistent fade free performance. Bilstein 5125 shock absorbers utilize a unique, velocity sensitive, digressive piston which reacts to changing road conditions which offer a significant improvement in ride quality, handling, and comfort.

This product page allows you to select a Bilstein 5125 series REAR shock absorber for use on a lifted 2005+ Nissan Frontier. Bilstein does not offer an off-the-shelf shock absorber for a Frontier equipped with more than 1" of rear lift. The shock purchased on this page is custom built. The correct size bushing is installed on the upper mount for the factory "Stud" style mount that Nissan uses on the Frontier. The lower shock bushing has the correct size 14mm ID sleeve installed for use with the factory Nissan mounting bolt.
These Bilstein 5100 series shocks have a Zinc-plated finish that resists attack by most elements and most chemicals found on the roadways. They will however start to look grungy when installed on trucks driven on roads treated with Chlorides (salt) and this is NOT covered under the Bilstein warranty. If your shocks look terrible after a day or a year there is nothing Bilstein or Performance Lifts can or will do about it. The only thing that can prevent surface damage is regular cleanings and the use of protective coatings.
Important Product Ordering Information:
You must use the Drop Down Selection Box to select the rear lift height your Frontier is equipped with. This is NOT the front lift height as advertised by a lift kit company. The rear shock length we send you is matched to the amount of REAR lift your particular Frontier has. If your Frontier has a 6" Front lift and a 4" Lift Block you would select the 4" lift height on the selection box.
Shock Length Information:
The factory installed rear shock measures approximately 21" inches fully extended. We use this measurement to determine what shock will be shipped that best matches the lift height you select. Using a 3" rear lift height as an example, the shock we sell will be approximately 24" fully extended. If you select a 5" lift height the shock will be approximately 26" fully extended. Please note that you are responsible to make sure your bump stop height is correct for the compressed length of the shock. Longer extended length shocks are also longer in the compressed length. Failure to install the correct height bump stop can allow the shock to bottom out before the factory bump stop engages properly. This can cause damage to the shock and to the shock mounts. Performance Lifts will NOT BE HELD LIABLE for damage caused by the installation or use of a longer than stock shock absorber.
PerformanceLifts.com sells this item individually. That means if you want to purchase 2 shocks (1 pair) you will need to adjust your order quantity to 2 before completing your purchase.

A front end alignment must be performed after the suspension height is altered to prevent abnormal handling and/or tire wear.
